K-5 FAQ

Rogers Virtual Learning for Grades K-5 is an online education program tailored to the needs of our youngest learners. It offers a flexible and engaging learning environment where students can complete their studies from the comfort of their homes. The program combines rigorous academics with interactive and fun learning experiences, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education.

In addition to high-quality instruction from certified teachers, students will require support at home from a parent or guardian to help facilitate their learning and manage their daily schedules. This collaboration between teachers and families is essential to create a successful and supportive virtual learning experience for each child.

The program is open to all students in the Rogers School District students who are in grades K-12. Students who live outside of the Rogers School District boundaries may transfer into the District and enroll in RVL through the boundary school they are assigned to.

If you would like to enroll in RVL, you will need to contact your child’s boundary school in the Rogers School District. For more information, click here.

Yes, students may transfer to or from another school during the school year. While it is allowable, we know that consistency and routine are best for children. It is recommended but not required that your child commit to a semester of virtual learning before returning to his/her school.

Yes, RVL Students will need internet access and a computer to receive instruction and complete assignments. RVL will provide Chromebooks to families that need one.

RVL Students complete work in Seesaw and Buzz. Teachers initially meet with students at RVL to teach them how to access their learning.

Students will be assigned a RVL teacher who will be responsible for teaching and supporting the students, providing feedback related to the students’ work, and assigning quarterly grades.

RVL Student in grades K-5 will have access to the same curriculum that is being taught in the Rogers School District elementary schools. Our curriculum, programs, and services are designed to help all children succeed. In addition to academics, RVL students will have access to music, library media, art, and P.E.

Yes, RVL Students earn grades like students do who are enrolled in traditional schools.

The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education does not waive attendance for virtual learners as they did in the Spring of 2020. Attendance is vital to a child’s education, whether they attend virtually or on-site. Click HERE for the RVL K-5 Attendance Policy.

Students are expected to log in to their Seesaw accounts each school day. On this website, they will view instructional videos created by RVL teachers and receive their daily assignments. They may complete their assignments at any time during the day and submit them electronically. Students will attend virtual class meetings. Students should expect to spend a similar amount of time on learning new concepts and applying them as they do in a traditional, brick-and-mortar school. With virtual learning, the timing of the student's work may be flexible. Teachers will be available during set times to answer questions and provide support.

Yes, RVL Students may complete their assignments at any time during the day.

Students eligible for special education, gifted and talented, and English language learner programs will continue to receive specialized instruction virtually. This includes services for dyslexia, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, specific learning disabilities, and 504 plans.

Yes, RVL Students must complete assessments mandated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These tests will be taken on campus.

Yes, RVL Students may have access to their boundary school counselor as well as RPS social workers if needed.

Yes, RVL Students may go to their boundary schools to access meals.  They are required to eat meals at their boundary schools. Meals may not be taken home to eat.

Yes. We have a library at our RVL building and students are encouraged to check out books.
