IS RVL RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?

Flexible Learning. Personalized Support.

Every student learns differently, and Rogers Virtual Learning is designed to provide flexible, personalized learning options that meet students where they are. Whether your child is looking for a fully virtual experience or a combination of online and on-campus learning, RVL offers pathways that help students thrive.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions families have when considering Rogers Virtual Learning.

  • Virtual learning can be an excellent option for students who are motivated to learn independently while staying connected with caring teachers and supportive families.

Students are often successful in RVL when they have:

    ? A consistent daily routine

    ? A dedicated learning space

? Active parent or guardian support

    ? Strong communication with teachers

    ? Personal responsibility and motivation

  • No. While students have flexibility in when and where they complete their work, courses follow a schedule with assignment deadlines and teacher expectations. Teachers work closely with students and families to provide support when unexpected situations arise, but regular communication and steady progress are essential for success.

  • Enrollment typically begins at the start of the school year or semester. Parents interested in RVL should first contact their child's assigned school principal or counselor. Mid-semester enrollment requests may be considered based on individual student needs and administrator approval.

  • Students should plan to engage in learning each school day and complete assignments according to their course schedule. While RVL offers flexibility, students are expected to maintain consistent progress throughout the school year.

  • Yes. Students who need a device may check out an RPS Chromebook. Families are responsible for returning the device when the student leaves RVL or at the end of the school year.

Students must also have reliable internet access and follow the same technology use guidelines as all Rogers Public Schools students.

  • Absolutely! RVL students are encouraged to participate in athletics, fine arts, clubs, and other extracurricular activities at their assigned Rogers Public Schools campus, provided they meet eligibility requirements.

  • Elementary students meet regularly with their teacher through scheduled virtual sessions. Secondary students can schedule virtual meetings with teachers whenever they need additional instruction or support.

All students participate in a required orientation before beginning classes.

  • Attendance is required for all RVL students and follows Arkansas state law. Students demonstrate attendance by actively engaging in coursework, completing assignments, and meeting weekly participation expectations established by their teachers.

  • Our teachers are committed to helping every student succeed. Students have access to:

    • One-on-one teacher support
    • Virtual meetings
    • Tutoring (when appropriate)
    • Supplemental learning resources
    • Personalized feedback
    • Pacing guides

Families are encouraged to communicate with teachers early whenever additional support is needed.

  • Yes! Throughout the school year, RVL offers field experiences, activities, and community events that allow students and families to build friendships and stay connected. Transportation to these events is provided by families.

  • Our team is here to help you determine whether Rogers Virtual Learning is the right fit for your child.
